she leaves the house softly
only the balls of her feet touching the ground
as she picks up speed in the forest.
outside of this haven of trees and trails
everything in the world pushes inwards.
but here in this space
there is only expanding.
her heart and breath sync together with her stride
in this freedom we call running
she stops
on an empty road just outside of the trees
and all she can hear is silence.
it is incredible.
the entire world caught momentarily
between breathing in and breathing out
aligned in a heartbeat
of breathtaking stillness.
she leaves the house softly
not sure what the world will look like when she returns
truthfully
not even sure what it looks like now.
what she does know
is the intense gratitude for this space in which to expand.
this silence,
it is incredible.
